I’M ESTHER WALDMAN, A FREELANCE INTERIOR DESIGNER.
I WORK PRIMARILY IN THE FILM INDUSTRY, BUT HAVE EXPERIENCE IN OTHER CREATIVE PROJECTS.
Growing up, I was always drawn to the arts, fascinated by the way cinema, dance, poetry, and music told stories and evoked emotion. I loved the elegance of ballet just as much as the raw energy of an electric guitar in a rock song—embracing both the delicate and “rebellious”, a true girly grunge. I thrived in spaces that encouraged curiosity and exploration- taking on challenging tasks with excitement.
In high school, I was equally passionate about science and art, both subjects allowing for hands-on experimentation and creative problem-solving. My time as a Photographer and Editor on the yearbook team gave me the creative freedom I craved, eventually leading to summer gigs as a photographer, where I embraced all forms of the medium.
After making a complete shift from being Pre-Med at Georgia State University, I found my way to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta for Interior Design. Not long after, I landed my first job in the film industry as an Art Department Production Assistant. I immediately fell in love with the world of film and TV. Balancing full-time studies with full-time jobs in film and television productions, I graduated from the School of Building Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and Architectural History in Spring 2025.
My design philosophy is deeply inspired by organized maximalism with an Old Hollywood aesthetic-playing with the use of light and shadow. I enjoy combining the unexpected and defying the conventional rule that form must follow function. I strive to create interiors that empower people to be unapologetically themselves, always driven by feeling, movement, and the essence of character.
