Cousins Outreach presents Valleys to Peaks. Recovering from Opioid Abuse through the restorative powers of nature, fostering the idea of community with emphasis on restoration and remaining grounded.
Taking full advantage of the serene views of the West Virginia mountains as sunlight floods every room through floor-to-ceiling curtain walls. Interior design can help break the cycle of relapse by allowing patients to heal in a safe, compassionate, and home-like environment where they can find hope, build resilience, and begin a new, fulfilling chapter.
Music therapy and Art therapy is very important in any healing process. At Cousins Outreach, we offer an art studio space where guests can book the room and jam out or expand their creative abilities through several art mediums.
In the Green Simulation Room, you experience the serene sounds of nature. Whether it be a waterfall, rainstorm, fire cracking, or leaves rustling; this room allows guests to get biophilic exposure therapy. The Green Room is proven to decrease anxiety and blood pressure and increase attentiveness.
In the patient dorms, it is important at Cousins Outreach for each guest to be allowed the opportunity to personalize their space. Personalization plays a key role in the level of comfortability someone may feel in a foreign space. The more comfortable our guests are, the better reflection and care they perceive their care to be.

Each of our dorms are named after a tree species to reinforce the idea of strong roots.
Cousins Outreach is a locked facility, meaning, we instill a highly structured program in which residents are not able to depart until the end of their suggested term. Being in a locked facility has its challenges and is often daunting– so we give our residents as much freedom as possible. At curfew our security system will discretely, automatically lock the dorms and reopen at sunrise, allowing each guest freedom in what time they want to exit their dorms in the morning.
